VoIP Engineer
T he VoIP Engineer's role is to coordinate strategies for defining, deploying, and maintaining the company's in-house IP telephony voice communication architecture and its associated network connections and component hardware. This includes managing all engineering projects for VoIP initiatives, planning technology roadmaps, and configuring and optimizing all VoIP/IP-PBX telephone systems and services

- Strong interpersonal skills, oral communication skills, and proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of voice/data networking, telephony switch management, and voice applications.
- Knowledge in the development and support of local and wide area networks is preferred.
- Knowledge of WAN technologies as they relate to voice services.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of the configuration and optimization of VoIP equipment.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of SIP, H.323, and TCP/IP.
- Strong understanding of VoIP CoS/QoS issues and mitigation strategies.
- Knowledge of the following telephony platforms; Avaya IP Connect/CMS/AES/CDR/SIP is required.
- Knowledge of the following telephony platforms; Cisco IPT/ICM, Nortel Meridian/Passport/Symposium/Succession, NICE, Optimize, Genesys and integration to advanced platforms is preferred.
- University degree in telecommunications or computer science and/or 6 years equivalent work experience.
